Punjab Minimizing Gender Gap for Inclusive Growth

With realizing the fact that, the empowerment of society root backs to women empowerment, every state is now running towards achieving gender equality and putting enormous effort to minimize the gender gap. And, Punjab being the front runner of this marathon, has developed a new culture of innovation, and has taken the responsibility to uplift women. For now, Punjab constitute a very small part of overall entrepreneurs in the state, this is why the state is now all set to encourage and empower its women community to bring a significant shift in its social and economic development and inclusive growth.

Being committed to create a favourable ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in the state; the govt of Punjab has announced in Oct 2022 that woman entrepreneurs will be in focus – to make Chandigarh a startup hub. The State has now initiated the empowerment process with highlighting the specific challenges that impede the growth and success of women entrepreneurs in formal and informal sectors of economy including rural and urban areas and creating facilitative environment for women entrepreneurs to contribute to economic development.

The Agile Women Workforce of Punjab: With such proactive govt initiatives, accessible education, equal opportunity and consistent & steady efforts, the women in Punjab are now entering and excelling at every profession they have opted and contributed for. The last decade has seen many women entrepreneurs in Punjab invading emerging domains and living their dreams with leaving behind every ifs and buts. Be it Healthcare, IT, Logistics, e-Commerce, Brand Building or no matter what, women entrepreneurs from Punjab are consistently leveraging their skills and potential to make their presence felt in the corporate arena, which needs to be celebrated and acknowledged.
