XLRI Jamshedpur held the second edition of the XLRI Jamshedpur Emerging Social Entrepreneurs of the Year (XL-JESEY 2025) award, celebrating women social entrepreneurs who have made a significant impact through innovative and sustainable business models.
The event hosted by the Centre of Inclusiveness, part of the eighth edition of the Social Entrepreneurship Conclave (SEC-8), aimed to recognize and support social entrepreneurs who create meaningful impact through their ventures.
The "Novel Approaches in Women Entrepreneurship" theme recognizes individuals empowering women through transformative initiatives, promoting gender equality and inclusive development in social, economic, and environmental sectors.
The award ceremony of XL-JESEY 2025 was organized by the SIGMA-oikos committee with the theme "Women Entrepreneurship & Inclusive Growth" which drew over 150 attendees, including students, industry leaders, and social entrepreneurs discussing women's role in entrepreneurship and inclusive growth.
The XL-JESEY 2025 award was presented to three entrepreneurs for their significant contributions to their communities. Premlata Poonia, founder of Hamari Laado, focused on girls' education and women's empowerment in rural India. Anuradha Richhariya, Managing Director of Lalitpur Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited, strengthened women-led agricultural enterprises. Aruna Tirkey, founder of Ajam Emba reviving indigenous cuisine and empowering tribal women. Each winner received a cash prize of Rs 1,50,000, encouraging others to develop sustainable solutions for societal challenges.
