Gytree.com, a platform for women's health, raised funds on January 11 from a group of investors that included Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Biocon, Ajay Srinivasan, the former CEO of Aditya Birla Capital, Rainmatter Investments, and Anubhuti Sharma of the Millie Clinic in San Francisco.
According to Swarnima Bhattacharya, chief product officer of Gytree, "We will use the funding to offer more diverse health services for women, add additional health features to women's dashboards, and scale and develop services focused on women in the workplace."
The business said that the initial round of funding will aid in the platform's development and expansion at a time when working women in India are increasingly leaving their jobs owing to health-related problems. Gytree did not, however, reveal how much was raised.
Gytree, a company founded by Shaili Chopra, leverages technology to give women access to a dashboard, professionals, and individualised treatment for better health results. According to the business, the virtual platform offers customers services centred on gynaecology, such as mental health support, nutrition guidance, and routine digital health checks.
Chopra, an entrepreneur, founded SheThePeople, a platform for women with the support of Anand Mahindra. According to the company, the 20 million-strong community at SheThePeople was the source of the demand for Gytree.com and women's health solutions.
Due to interrelated symptoms and results, Indian women require a 360-degree approach to care. They can access Gytree from anywhere at any time, and they can also talk about private and intimate health information in a secure environment.
The company is testing both B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) models for organisations that want to retain female talent by giving their female employees better healthcare, according to CPO Bhattacharya.
The National Health Portal of India estimates that over 32 million Indian women are afflicted with debilitating diseases like PCOS, endometriosis, and infertility. Gytree.com asserted that it would help with symptom recognition, prompt diagnosis, and ongoing treatment of such illnesses.
India has disregarded the need to develop female-first goods in the health sector for far too long. Gytree.com closes a critical gap in the use of technology to address the unique health requirements of women through products and services.
Gytree claims that a core team of women who are aware of the needs of people who identify as female established the platform. Sudeshna Ray, a physician with more than 30 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, is the platform's medical director, while Bhattacharya has experience working in healthcare and women-focused policy for more than a decade with the UN (United Nations), WHO (World Health Organization), and others.
