Women's Asia Cup: India Move into semi-finals after Spectacular 9-wicket win over Thailand

India beat Thailand in the fifth game in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup today. Indian bowlers showed great promise and dismissed Thailand for only 37 runs. India then proceeded to score the required runs in just six overs with nine wickets in hand. With the current win India has emerged on top of the seven-team group league.
India currently has 10 points from six games. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and one among Thailand and Bangladesh are expected to reach in the semifinals.
The match began with Captain SmritiMandhana winning the toss and opted to bowl first. An experienced Thai team crumbled against India’s bowling attack having scored only 37 runs in 16 overs.
NannapatKoncharoenkai (12) was the only batter to score in double digits. NattayaBoochatham (7) was the second top scorer.
Deepti Sharma (2/10) and SnehRana (3/9) came down heavy on the Thai team and were backed by RajeshwariGayakwad (2/8) and Meghna Singh who also took a wicket.
The match was also captain Mandhana’s 100th T20 appearance. On the occasion she said, “A big shout out to all girls for making my 100th T20 International special”.
