Women of Music India (WoMI) established to Elevate Women in Indian Music Industry

The Women of Music India (WoMI) is a newly established platform that is currently accepting new members. The mission of WoMI, a community led by women, is to elevate the voices of women within the Indian music ecosystem and increase the industry's accessibility to women around the world.

WOMI is covering musical genres and catering them to the music workforce, including artist managers, labelheads, photographers, stylists, journalists, and more.

Artists like Jonita Gandhi, Jasleen Royal, Kamakshi Khanna, Preeti Nayyar of Universal Music Group, Ankita Maheshwari of Sony Music India, and Shreya Khaladkar of Believe have all backed the platform's inaugural campaign. The foundation aims to promote greater inclusivity, female empowerment, and the advancement of women in the industry.

Membership is free for every woman. Leaders in the industry have assured to assist WoMI members by providing them with early access to opportunities, job listings, workshops, mentoring programs, and a diverse network of professionals across the nation.

Preeti Nayyar states that, in order to help more number of women getting skills for entering the industry, they are working on the resources and ideas whereas Sweta Ojha, the cofounder of Bluprint mentioned that this initiative aims to foster a supportive community and increase women's representation in various aspects of the music industry.
