Women-led Ventures in India Raised $930 million in 2024, finds New Report

There has been a rise in the number of women entrepreneurs in the Indian startup ecosystem over the past few years. VCs have begun showing more interest in women-led ventures and as a consequence in 2024, funding in female-led startups saw a rise by more than 90 percent.
These findings were published by Inc42’s Indian Startup Funding Report 2024. It stated that startups led by women raised close to $930 million in 2024. A total of 136 deals were made with women-led ventures. This has been a 93.75 per cent year-on-year growth with women-led startups raising $480 million in the previous year.
With a share of 28.7 per cent, the fintech sector was the top industry for women-led startups to receive funding. A total of $266.91 million was raised through 17 deals by fintech women-led startups in 2024.
The e-commerce industry came in the second spot with 22.8 percent market share. These companies raised $212 million in 53 deals. The third spot was taken by enterprise tech which saw a total of $130 million being raised in 2024. Health tech and cleantech came in the fourth and fifth spot, raising $102.3 million and $130.93 million respectively.
2024 also saw 13 new-age companies go public by launching much talked about IPOs.
