Women in Aviation India honors 37 Women Achievers in Aviation Industry

The Women in Aviation India (WAI) celebrated the 3rd edition of the "Giving Wings to Dreams Awards 2024" in November at Roseate House, New Delhi. The event honored 37 women achievers in the aviation sector, recognizing their contributions across various fields such as airside operations, terminal operations, ground support, flight dispatchers, airline security, fire rescue, engineering, communication, cabin crew, and flight operations.

The event was attended by Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and other dignitaries, including Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Dept., Government of Odisha, and Mr. Vipin Kumar, IAS - Chairman, highlighted the growing opportunities for women in emerging areas like the drone industry. In addition to this, the event recognized women from nodal authorities including BCAS, DGCA, CISF, and Pawan Hans who are inspiring future generations through a rigorous selection process led by industry veterans.

The Giving Wings to Dreams Awards are a culmination of Girls in Aviation Day programs in 14 Indian cities, supported by state governments, airports, schools, and colleges. The initiative, under the theme "Chhu Lengi Aasman Bharat Ki Betiyan", invited aviation experts, institutions, students, and academic institutions to participate. Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu congratulated Smt. Radha Bhatia, founder of Women in Aviation India, and members conducting awareness camps.
