The 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) will be held from 14 November to 27 November 2023 where women entrepreneurs from Saarc countries will take part to exhibit their products. The theme of this event will be Vasudhaiva Kutumbakham: United by Trade, reflecting India's G20 Presidency.
The officials of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) said that this annual event is going to be the city's largest trade fair so far. The expo will be held from hall number 1 to hall number 14 in an area of 1.1 lakh square meters at the newly developed Pragati Maidan. In comparison, the fair area was approximately 73,000 square meters in 2022 and approximately 63,000 square meters in 2021. Only halls 1,6 and 14 were excluded from the fair last year.
The Bharat Mandapam won't be a part of this event but the companies can book the respective place for business meetings, according to a government official.
This year's event is expected to draw over ten lakh people. The top participants of this year's Trade fair will be Saarc women entrepreneurs. Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will each have their own space.
Turkey and Bahrain are also expected to attend the Trade fair. The Geographical Indications (GI) pavilion, set up by the Department for the promotion of industry and Internal Trade will be another draw at the event. According to the officials, the food court will also be larger this year.
People will relish the old glory of the Trade fair at this year's ITFF, said Krishan Kumar, Deputy General Manager of ITPO. The annual event has been held on a smaller scale in recent years due to the redevelopment of the Pragati Maidan Complex. The ITFF 2023, will also cover a total area of 1,10,000 square meters.
The state governments, central ministries, commodity boards, marquee companies, and PSUs are booking their places at present and the online booking system for the private companies is expected to go live next week.
Bihar, Jharkhand, and Kerala will be the partner states in ITFF 2023 whereas Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Jammu & Kashmir will be the focus states this year.
The tickets for the event are expected to be Rs 500 on weekends and business days and 150 for non-business days. On weekdays, the tickets would be Rs 500 for business days and Rs 80 for non-business days.
