We The Change (WTC) India and Miraculum Society Nagaland (MSN) organised a three-day workshop on "menstrual health, hygiene, and waste management" at several schools throughout the Noklak area.
We The Change (WTC) founder Naaz Farheen spoke to the group about We The Change (WTC) India and how it has been working to combat stereotypes around menstruation during the trainings, according to a news release from Miraculum Society Nagaland (MSN).
We The Change (WTC) initiative, according to Farheen, supports five verticals, including trans for nation, consent for children, women's entrepreneurship, menstrual health, hygiene, and waste management.
She emphasised that the initiative was intended to help educate and build awareness about menstruation health, cleanliness, and menstrual waste management in the area, with Noklak being one of the younger districts along the Indo-Myanmar border with limited to no access to menstrual hygiene management.
According to Farheen, We The Change (WTC) India's ultimate purpose was to reach out to individuals and communities that lack access to menstrual education and make sure they have access to essential menstrual supplies.
Over the course of three days, the team visited St. Paul School, Holy Angel School, Christian High School, Govt School Noklak Village, High School Noklak and community at Pangsha Village.
Along with menstrual hygiene management training, the team also distributed menstrual hygiene kits and mini comic books about menstruation.
