The Indian Women's Hockey Team will compete in Valencia, Spain from December 11 to 17 in the next FIH Women's Nations Cup. Savita, the 20-person team's goalkeeper captain, is optimistic about having a successful event.

The FIH Women's Nations Cup is a crucial event on the international calendar since it implements a promotion-relegation system, where the winners advance to the 2023–2024 FIH Hockey Women's Pro League.

In preparation for the FIH Women's Nations Cup 2022, our crew has been working incredibly hard. We are committed to winning the competition since doing so will allow us to play in the FIH Hockey Women's Pro League in 2023–2024. We enjoyed participating in the most recent FIH Hockey Women's Pro League, and we hope to participate in the following one as well. It will be a good warm-up for the Asian Games and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, according to captain Savita in a statement issued by Hockey India.

The Indian Women's Hockey Team, which is grouped in pool B with South Africa, Canada, and Japan, will compete at their highest level, according to Captain Savita. Ireland, Italy, Korea, and Spain, who are grouped in pool A, are the other participating teams.

“All the players are confident of a good outing in the FIH Women’s Nations Cup 2022. We will face Canada, Japan and South Africa in the group stage and we will look to play the best hockey we can and execute the plans properly,” said the skipper.

She also thinks that the next match will aid in the Indian women's hockey team's preparation for the Asian Games the following year.

“We also have our eyes on the Asian Games which is going to happen next year. Every tournament till the Asian Games will act as a preparation for it and I am sure all the players will get the much-needed confidence with a good performance in the FIH Women’s Nations Cup 2022,” signed off captain Savita.
