W-20: India finalises goals to use 4-C techniques to build equitable and equal world

Smriti Zubin Irani, the Union Minister for Women's and Children's Development and Minority Affairs, opened a two-day Women 20 (W20) inception conference in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Dr. Bhagat Kishanrao Karad, Union Minister of State for Finance, also attended the inauguration event.

This gathering, which aims to establish a world of equality and equity in which every woman lives with dignity, is attended by over 150 women dignitaries from member nations, guest countries, and special invitees.

Moreover, the 4-C techniques of W-20 include cooperation, consensus building, communication, collaboration, and calls to action. W20 is a recognised engagement group operating under the G20 presidency of India.

Gender equality & women’s empowerment:

W20 hopes that by holding this event, more global people would become actively involved in India's G20 and W20 Presidency. Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa for India, Dr. Gulden Turktan, the founder and chair of the W20, and Ms. Uli Silalahi, the chair of the W20 Indonesia 2022, were all present.

On this occasion, Kant gave his opinion. During the opening statement, Ms. Smriti Irani discussed her views on gender equality and women's empowerment. Five panel talks and two special sessions of debate were held during the Inception conference, according to Dr. Sandhya Purecha, the head of this W20 committee and the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Meeting covering various topics:

The two-day Inception Meeting of Women-20 (W-20) will cover a range of topics, including empowering women in nano, micro, and startup businesses, the role of women as start changing in climate resilience action, creating a process of assisting for women leaders at the grassroots, increased accessibility through infrastructure and skill to cross the gender digital divide, paving the way for women through education and skilling, and creating useful idiots for women-led development-policy and legal frameworks. A special session is also held to discuss Indian growth led by women.

Earlier, Dr. Sandhya Purecha, chair of W-20, in the presence of Ms. Dharitri Pattnaik, chief coordinator of W-20, stated that W-20 India's mission is to ensure an allowing environment and ecosystem for women to thrive, transcend, and transform their lives as well as those of others.

W-20 India's vision is to create a world of equality and equity where every woman lives with dignity. White papers, policy briefs, video documentaries, opinion pieces, a guidebook, and a statement are just a few of the information products that W20 will release in an effort to persuade G20 countries and leaders to put women's issues at the forefront of G-20 discussions.

Engagement with women entrepreneurs:

W20 places a strong emphasis on influencing the G20 Leaders' Declaration and Communiqué and taking action to forge a consensus in favour of active engagement with female entrepreneurs and pledges to measures that would promote gender equality.

A Jan Bhagidari ceremony was also organised in the city, and almost 1000 women from a variety of backgrounds, including anganwadi workers, women from different NGOs, and many other women workers at the grassroots level, participated.

Participants in the interactive session included the leader of the Indonesian mission, Dr. Farahdibha Tenrilemba, Elena Myakotnikova of the Russian delegation, Ms. Angela Joo-Hyun Kang of South Korea, Ms. Sibulele Poswayo of South Africa, and Ms. Satoko Kono of Japan.

Journey to Empowerment:

The event started with a mesmerising cultural ceremony by Mahagami, highlighting the rich and varied cultural history of India, and it concluded with a Q&A session during which the Indian women engaged with the W20 delegates. The event's subject was "Road to Empowerment," and W-20 hopes to realise its goal of interacting with the public to support good governance and more stakeholder involvement in policy development and decision-making.

In addition to women from various communities and age groups across India, foreign delegates and W-20 Chair Dr. Sandhya Purecha were present at the event. Dr. Purecha explained that India's G20 Presidency would be a watershed moment in her history because it seeks to play a significant role by identifying workable global solutions for the wellness of all, and in doing so, emerge the true spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or the "World is One Family."
