In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India announced the opening of its first All-Women City Store. It is believed that the action is part of a plan to create a platform to support female talent and diversify the automotive workforce.
The Volkswagen India all-women city shop is an initiative to give a unique place for women consumers as well as a specialised centre for them to start their car-owning adventure because the customer base made up of women is expanding quickly in India.
The programme, which was launched in collaboration with Ramani Cars, also aims to inspire more female professionals to enter and succeed in the automotive retail sector.
The Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus, and Tiguan are among the new models on exhibit in the All Women City Store's four-car display.
Customers can visit their local Volkswagen showroom or the Volkswagen India website for further information on the goods and services the company offers.
More than 35 women work at the Ramani Cars complex, overseeing everything from sales to after-sales to test drive management, customer care services, housekeeping, security, and more.
"Through this initiative of an All Women City Store in Coimbatore, it is our endeavour to champion women talent in the automotive workforce and promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity across the organisation," stated Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.
