Vocational Training Program for Women Launched by APL Apollo Foundation under 'Tejaswini'

Under its flagship program for women's empowerment, Tejaswini, the APL Apollo Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) division of the APL Apollo Group, launched Project Aarohi. APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. is supporting Project Aarohi, which aims to provide vocational training in the beautician trade and management of beauty parlors to more than 50 girls and women from poor communities of East Delhi slum areas in Phase-1. This will enable them to become self-sufficient and empowered.
The Indian beauty and wellness industry is expected to advance at a CAGR of 18 per cent and reach a goal of INR 5 lakh crore by 2023. Project Aarohi will consider the industry's expansion, community-level needs assessments, and at particular needs of women who want both wage and self-employment as well as market demand.
Project Aarohi will be a 4.5 months basic course that will include training about bridal makeup, nail art, how to apply mehendi, hairstyling, etc. from industry experts. In addition to this, the recipients will be provided with employability coaching, and mock interviews who wish to wage working opportunities.
Apart from these, basic knowledge about client handling, social media management, inventory management, soft skills, digital and financial literacy, personal hygiene, customer engagement, entrepreneurship, and internship training will also be offered to the participants.
