Uttara Kannada Officials adopt 358 Pregnant Women

Maternal mortality, or the details rate of women during and after pregnancy, is a major global health concern. Maternal mortality can occur during pregnancy as a result of complications such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or infections. To reduce these risks, timely access to quality prenatal care and skilled healthcare providers is critical.
Uttara Kannada district officials have adopted 358 pregnant women in an effort to reduce this issue of Maternal mortality in women. For those who are unfamiliar, this is part of an initiative to provide the best possible care to expectant mothers and their newborns.
Senior officials from the Uttara Kannada district administration participate in the initiative by adopting pregnant women who are registered under the National Health Mission scheme.
Gangubai Mankar, the Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner spoke about the initiative, saying that officials from various departments had each adopted one pregnant woman to care for until after they gave birth.
The pregnant women are taken care of by the Aganwadi and ASHA workers. They visit these pregnant women on a regular basis, provide them with health records, and prescribe medicine, and food grains until they return to their routine post-childbirth life.
