Usha Uthup receives She Slays Legend award by HT Health Shots

The HT Health Shots were administered to Usha Uthup. The HT Health Shots Women Slays Awards celebration presented the She Slays Legend award. On April 13, in New Delhi, the HT Health Shots She Slays Awards honoured the essence of femininity with much pomp. The event stood for everything linked to ending bias with a lineup of luminaries from Delhi's political, social, and cultural circles as well as a line-up of successful women changemakers.

Anupriya Patel, the honourable Union Minister of State for Trade and Industry, delivered the event's keynote address. She urged both the audience and the awardees to support the Indian government's initiatives for women-led development.

"Women, who make up half of our population, are essential to India's development into a developed country. We feel it is our duty to foster an atmosphere where women can fulfil their potential and grow and develop since women are a valuable resource in the workforce "stated Anupriya Patel in her motivational speech.

Rare times leave one both inspired and humbled, according to Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc, who spoke to the audience at the event. One such occasion was the HT Health Shots Woman Slays Awards. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many accomplished women who had disproven stereotypes and barriers. It was an honour to deliver the welcome comments and make a commitment to strive for a just world.

Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, a Grammy-nominated vocalist, opened the evening event, which was organised by Ambience and powered by Vedanta. Papa CJ and RJ Supriya, two stand-up comedians who kept the crowd in splits with their one-liners, served as the event's hosts.

The celebration of seasoned multilingual vocalist Usha Uthup as the She Slays Legend was one of the highlights of the day. The audience gave the 75-year-old, who is renowned for her strong voice, a standing ovation. Usha Uthup sang "Darling" while sporting her signature silk sari, bindi, and gajra ensemble, which caused the audience to stand up.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, IPS officer Anita Roy, businesswoman Chandni Nath Israni, and Anuradha Pal, the first female professional tabla player in the world, received the She Slays Champion Awards. Aditi Rao Hydari gave her mother and grandmother credit for fostering in her a desire to never give up on her dreams, her courage, and her inner child.

"They have taught me how to live a courageous, graceful, and dignified life... having the conviction that if you are true to yourself, you will constantly develop, improve, and ideally shine "Praveen Someshwar, Managing Director and CEO of HT Media Ltd., and Ankush Kaul, Chief Business Officer of Ambience Group, presented Aditi with the award.

We are really proud to be affiliated with the HT Health Shots Woman Slays Awards, Kaul remarked. An honour like this will only encourage more individuals to exercise their fundamental human right to free choice as we all work to empower women.

The winner of the HT Health Shots Woman Slays Champion Award is actor Aditi Rao Hydari. Ankush Kaul, Chief Business Officer of Ambience Group, and Praveen Someshwar, Managing Director and CEO of HT Media Ltd., gave her the honour.

Syed Rafath Parveen, who passed away prematurely at the age of 40 but continues to live on through the lives she helped as an organ donor, received a posthumous Champion Award.

More than a dozen other prizes were awarded to women who, through their work and journey, are changing and affecting lives. The award recipients are Pankti Pandey (for sustainability), Payal Dhare (for gaming), Sahar Mansoor (for entrepreneurship), Dr. Rashi Agarwal (for mental health), Tanya Appachu (for social media stardom), Dr. Surbhi Singh (for healthcare), Aashna Bhagwani (for body positivity), Neha Ranglani (for wellness coach - nutrition), Leeza Mangaldas (for sexual health educator), Aanya (Technology).

Three Jury Awards were granted to Krutika Ojha in the gaming industry, Natasha Noel, a yoga instructor, body positivity and mental health influencer, and Siya Tayal, a young aspirant in social welfare.

The winners were selected based on online voting and evaluate by a jury which included Sonal Kalra, Chief Managing Editor, Lifestyle and Entertainment, Hindustan Times, Live Hindustan Executive Editor Jayanti Ranganathan, veteran beauty expert Dr Blossom Kochchar, Arjuna Award-winning rifle shooter Anjali Bhagwat, Cosmos Maya CEO Megha Tata, Suchitra Rajendra, CEO and Founder QEDHR and environmentalist-activist Ripudaman Bevli. Health Shots, a digital health and wellness portal by HT Media for Indian millennial women, has a particular programme called She Slays. Its purpose is to uplift and empower women.
