In order to support women’s participation in the flagship “Make in UP” initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to create separate industrial enclaves just for them.
A generous number of female industrialists have been found in the National Capital Region (NCR) in Greater Noida, the same model will be copied completely in six other locations, including the constituencies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in Varanasi and Gorakhpur.
The remaining four regions are Prayagraj, Kanpur, Bundelkhand, and Lucknow. The government aims to remove the obstacles faced by women in finance and private capitals along with the manufacturing processes.
According to sources 500 acres of land have been set aside by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) that will be allocated to the female entrepreneurs. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) had previously provided women entrepreneurs access to around 700 industrial plots for their work.
In accordance to support female entrepreneurs financially, number of financial incentives, including a waiver of stamp duty for female entrepreneurs, have been already announced by the Yogi government.
The women-owned businesses in Purvanchal and Bundelkhand are entitled for a 100 per cent stamp duty recovery, although in other parts of the state, the subsidy is just 75 per cent which is comparatively less.
To further facilitate the establishment of women-owned businesses, these units will be free from required inspections for the first three years.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has asked the UP Government to fasten the land allotment proceedings in the meantime, in order to meet the state’s trillion-dollar economic aim in a short duration than expected.
In the meantime, the MSME sector is being supported by the UP government in order to ensure fair socioeconomic growth, income distribution, and job creation.
