The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has successfully launched initiatives like Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya to ensure the empowerment and protection of women and children for their overall development by providing a safe and secure environment. These efforts have resulted in well-fed and happy children, as well as self-assured, self-reliant women living in a secure environment devoid of discrimination and violence.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has prepared a 100-day action plan, and Mission Vatsalya will launch a MIS portal for Child Care Institutions, Juvenile Justice Boards, and Child Welfare Committees in June. The portal will not only increase transparency, but it will also allow for more effective monitoring and review of the schemes' operations.

Online data on the health, education, and skill development of children in institutions will be made available. A thorough examination of the activities of the Child Welfare Committee and the Juvenile Justice Board will also be carried out. In Shahjahanpur, a state-run Juvenile Observation Home, built at a cost of Rs 7 crore, will also be inaugurated.

The state government has rehabilitated nearly 11,049 children who have lost one or both parents to Covid through the UP Chief Minister Bal Sewa Yojana.
