- The program focuses on building up Anganwadi centers and encouraging early childhood education
On Tuesday, Utter Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel distributed 10 pre-school kits and 10 health kits during her Kushinagar visit at the Collectorate complex. The move is to improve Anganwadi centers and facilitate early childhood education. The kits will be distributed to a total of 250 Anganwadi centers in the district.
During her visit to several stalls at the event, Anandiben stressed self-sufficiency and skill upgradation. "The children must be trained right from childhood to be mentally, physically, and intellectually strong. Just as one ploughs the land before sowing seeds, children should be equipped with good education and values," she said.
Anganwadi children also offered cultural performances, such as songs and plays on cleanliness. Overwhelmed by their efforts, Anandiben said, "Cleanliness should be implanted in every child. The hygiene message they brought today should go to every home." Stressing gender equality, she stated, "Whether son or daughter, every child is entitled to equal education and opportunities. Women's empowerment is key to a developed India."
She also disbursed several welfare schemes, such as residential lease certificates to the Musahar community members, ODOP toolkits, and Ayushman Bharat cards. Stressing healthcare importance, she called for, "Every girl in the 9-14 age group must get a cancer vaccine. No family should be denied basic medical facilities." She instructed the authorities to provide quality healthcare for the elderly, supervise medicines, and tighten frontier patrol.
Patel promoted firm action against dowry, child marriage, and intoxication and declared, "Social evils have to be eliminated to bring about a progressive society." Local legislatures, district officials, and Anganwadi workers dignified the event.
