Union Bank of India launches Rural Training Centre for Women

India's first all-women Rural Self Employment Training Institutions (RSETIs) have been launched by Union Bank of India in Mauganj of Madhya Pradesh and Palnadu of Andhra Pradesh. The bank also launched several initiatives that emphasize health, education, and women upliftment along with a donation of Rs 5.30 crore to Cancer Institute, Chennai.
The Union Bank of India was praised by Dr Kalpana Balakrishnan, Director, Cancer Institute WIA, Adyar, Chennai as this fund will improve the diagnostic capabilities and patient care by bringing an MRI scanner. Another donation of Rs 1.72 crore was received by Cantonment General Hospital, Prayagraj by the bank to advance the cancer unit.
MD & CEO, Union Bank of India, A Manimekhalai mentioned, "Our diverse CSR initiatives, inspired by Gandhiji's ideals, demonstrate our commitment to rural development, women's empowerment, and strengthening the health infrastructure of our country. Union Bank of India remains dedicated to making a positive impact on society and will persist in its efforts to promote a better, healthier, and more educated India." She further stated that "The Head Office building of Union Bank of India in Mumbai was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, in 1921. This significant moment reinforces our dedication to uphold Gandhiji's leadership and vision."
The Union Bank of India also organized a Women's Hockey Match in Mumbai that featured the Union Bank Hockey Team and the Sports Authority of India team.
