The Una district administration has combined funding from three distinct initiatives to increase rural women's empowerment and give roadside amenities to commuters in the Kutlehar Assembly sector, which is almost synonymous with the Bangana Sub-Division.
MGNREGA, National Livelihood Mission, and Swachh Bharat Mission funds were used to build rain shelters, toilets, and a convenience store in three populated places along the Una-Hamirpur National Highway at Dhundla, Kakrana, and Nanavin villages.
The Una-Hamirpur highway, according to Kutlehar MLA Virender Kanwar, who is also the minister for Agriculture, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, is a busy road due to religious tourism, as inter-state and locals visit Baba Balak Nath temple and other shrines along the route. He also mentioned the Baba Garib Nath shrine in Kutlehar's Androuli village, which is located on the banks of Gobind Sagar Lake.
Kanwar said a total of Rs 5.7 lakh was spent on infrastructure at each of the three locations, including Rs 3 lakh for a bus stop rain shelter, Rs 2.1 lakh for public restrooms, and Rs 60,000 for a public conveniences store. He claimed that these shops, which are run by members of local SHGs, stock 'Him Ira' branded products created by women self-help groups (SHGs) in the state.
Vimla Devi, a member of the Dhundla SHG, said the highway outlet has given their group a tremendous opportunity to market their wares. Pradhan Dhundla Gram Panchayat Sushma Devi stated that the facilities at three locations along the roadway were a success.
