Trisha Gongadi becomes First Player to Score Century in U19 Women's T20 WC

  • 19-year-old Trisha reached 100 runs off 53 balls and finished unbeaten on 110 from 59 balls.
  • She achieved the milestone during India’s Super Six match against Scotland at Bayuemas Oval.

Trisha Gongadi On Tuesday became the first player to score a century in this ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup as an opening batter for India. Remaining unbeaten at 110 runs, including 13 fours and 4 sixes, she reached the century mark in just 53 balls.

Trisha’s historic century came during India's Super Six match against Scotland.

She put together an impressive 147-run stand with teammate G Kamalini, who made 51.

Davina Sarah T Perrin of England stands at second position with 131 runs from four matches.

Trisha needs to score at least 68 more runs in upcoming matches to break Shweta Sehrawat's record for most runs in a single Women's U19 T20 World Cup.

Shweta record is 297 runs from seven matches in the 2023 tournament.

She scored an unbeaten 27 runs against Malaysia, 49 runs against Sri Lanka, and 40 runs in the Super Six match against Bangladesh.

The defending champions, India, are unbeaten till date and have even made it to the semis.
