Top Ranked Golfer, Diksha Dagar set to lead Hero Women's Indian Open 2024

Diksha Dagar, India's top-ranked golfer on the Ladies European Tour (LET), is set to lead the home challenge at the Hero Women's Indian Open 2024. She will compete in the tournament, which will be held at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram from 24 to 27 October 2024. Being a strong contender, Diksha is ranked 22nd on the LET Order of Merit and finished 3rd last year in this tournament.
The 25-year-old Diksha started playing golf at a young age inspired by her father who is also her caddie. She has represented India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2024 Paris Olympics. She has secured victory in the LET tournament and Hero Women's Indian Open 2019. She is skilled in tee shots, approach shots, and putting. Diksha mentioned, "Short game, especially putting, is going to be tough. You have to be good at course management. You should know where to place the ball. You don't want to end up on the wrong side here. This is a course that challenges all aspects of your game." She adds, "The deep-faced bunkers, undulating and narrow fairways, water hazards and sharp bends approaching several greens, choice of shots and accuracy off the tee will be crucial."
The 144-player field of Hero Women's Indian Open 2024 will witness prominent players like LET OOM Leader and champion Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland, Manon De Roey of Belgium, Alice Hewson & Amy Taylor of England, Perrine Delacour of France, and Shannon Tan of Singapore. In addition to this, 26 Indian players will be competing in the tournament, including, Diksha Dagar, Gaurika Bishnoi, Tvesa Malik, Hitaashee Bakshi, Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Avani Prashanth, Khushi Khanijau, Jasmine Shekar, Sweta Mansingh, Seher Atwal, Ananya Garg, Rhea Jha, Snigdha Goswami, Gauri Karhade, Agrima Manral, Rhea Purvi Saravanan, Vidhatri Urs, Anvitha Narendran, Nayeon Eum.
