In order to provide a secure and comfortable journey for women, the second coach of RAPIDX, the fastest rail service that runs between Delhi and Meerut, will be reserved and only for ladies.
There will be 10 extra seats to the number of seats previously reserved for women in other coaches of the train which provides a total reservation of 72 seating capacity.
Every train on India's first regional rail system, RAPIDX would feature a special coach for women. There has been a lot of effort made by the officials to increase accessibility and make sure that women should have a safe and comfortable journey experience, said an official of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The idea behind this venture is to make a safe environment, especially for those women who need to travel alone with utmost safety and comfort.
The train will also include a diaper changing station for the females who will carry their toddlers. The Stations will include CCTV cameras installed all over that will operate 24×7 to monitor every activity.
The RAPIDX trains stations will also include a premium coach to help passengers in need
Platforms will have screen doors that will have dedicated space for wheelchairs or stretchers on the trains and lifts. The stations will also have a pick-and-drop service to have additional safety for the passengers.
