Palyang (Ch. Bayang), a Tibetan lady, is recognized for her exceptional efforts to promote the ecological preservation of the Tibetan Plateau and has been listed on the prestigious BBC “100 Women” list. As a committed diarist and sustainability advocate, Palyang has been actively monitoring the changing landscapes, animal dynamics, and water systems in the Tibetan plateau since 2018.

Beyond simple documentation, Palyang has developed expertise in producing eco-friendly goods like belts, lip balms, and soaps that are manufactured in a way that protects nearby water sources. Her actions encourage and motivate people to support the cause in addition to protect the environment.

Palyang has established herself as a dedicated supporter for the preservation of this endangered ecosystem by gathering ecological data, monitoring weather trends, and researching plant life.

The Tibetan lady further solidifies her facts by actively promoting sustainability and wellness in her neighborhood as a member of the Sanjiangyuan Female Environmentalists Network.

The BBC's "100 Women" list for this year highlighted people who are battling climate change, classifying winners into five categories: social and political activism, entertainment and sports, culture and education, science, health, and technology, and climate pioneers.

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, a Tibetan Buddhist disciple raised in England in 1940, joins Palyang on this prestigious list. At twenty years old, she traveled to India and became one of the first Westerners to get ordained in Tibetan Buddhism. Among the significant projects undertaken by Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo are the founding of the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery in Hematal, India, which is home to more than 120 nuns, and the efforts to improve the reputation of female practitioners as well.
