TiE (Chandigarh), in partnership with Startup Punjab, organised the chapter finals of the TiE Women Global Pitch Competition at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, to boost the existing women startup ecosystem in the area.
This year, more than 30 female-led companies submitted applications for the competition, and the top nine teams went on to participate in the finals. During a ceremony for awarding prizes, Sibin C, Director, Industries and Commerce, Punjab, honoured the top three winners with cash awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000, respectively.
Sibin C emphasised that there is never a lack of finance for outstanding ideas and exhorted female business owners to be bold in their dedication to their goal of success.
He also discussed the various programmes and seed funds that Startup Punjab had introduced for women-owned businesses that were registered in Punjab.
The event's main thrust areas, according to Robin Aggarwal, president of TiE (Chandigarh), were mentoring, networking, incubation, and funding.
