PM Modi to Announce Bima Sakhi Scheme for Women's Empowerment in Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit the state of Haryana on December 9 to announce the 'Bima Sakhi Yojana'. The scheme is focused on empowering women and strengthening their financial inclusion.

A statement from the PMO said that the launch which will take place in Panipat. It also mentioned that it is a Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) initiative that intends to empower women aged 18-70 years, who have passed Class X. The beneficiaries will receive specialised training. They will also be given a stipend for the first three years to endorse financial literacy and insurance awareness.

India secure 5-0 Win over Malaysia at Women's Junior Asia Cup in Muscat

The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team secured a 5-0 victory over Malaysia in their Pool A match at the Women's Junior Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman. Deepika scored a hat-trick, while Vaishnavi Phalke and Kanika Siwach added goals. This marks India's third consecutive victory over Malaysia in the tournament's history, following a 13-1 victory over Bangladesh. India capitalized on the momentum and delivered a commanding performance.

Rajasthan Police to launch Women-led Patrolling Units ensuring Women's Safety

Rajasthan Police is launching women-led patrolling units named 'Kalika Patrolling Units' to prevent gendered crimes and ensure women's safety. The units, trained in self-defense, crisis management, and counseling, will patrol hotspots like markets, public transport hubs, and educational institutions. They will also establish dedicated helplines and awareness campaigns to educate the public about gender-based violence and encourage reporting.

Hyundai Empowers 453 Rural Women in Tamil Nadu, Driving Rs 6.3 Crore in Livelihoods!

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India, successfully completes Phase III of Livelihood Support Programme benefiting 453 rural women from Tamil Nadu. The Livelihood Support Programme, that works with a focus on the development of women and thereby augmenting their economic empowerment, has helped participants from Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Ranipet together earning over Rs 6.30 crore.
