New Zealand women beat South Africa by 32 runs to win their very first title in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. Amelia Kerr and Rosemary Mair scored three wickets each to stop New Zealand at 126/9 in the second innings. The first innings saw New Zealand but up a score of 158/5.

Haryana women are to receive loans up to Rs 3 lakh in their bank accounts under the Haryana Matriskati Uyamita Yojana. The Deputy Commissioner of Haryana, Dr Yash Garg mentioned the aim of making rural and urban women of Haryana independent and improving their social and economic status through the Haryana Mahila Vikas Nigam implemented by the Haryana Government.

Odisha Government announces 1-Day Menstrual Leave Policy for Female Staff

The Odisha government recently announced a new policy granting women employees one day of menstrual leave or paid period leave per month in order to support women's health and well-being during their menstruation which causes physical discomfort and cramps. Female employees have been provided an additional 12 days of casual leave apart from the 15 days they already have annually. The paid period leave was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on 15 August 2024 which has been officially implemented now.

The 5th National Water Awards 2024 was presented by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi and recognized exemplary efforts of individuals and organizations in water conservation and management across nine categories: Best State, Best District, Best Village Panchayat, Bets Urban Local Body, best School or College, Best Industry, best Water User Association, Best Institution, and Best Civil Society.

Former Indian women's hockey team captain Rani Rampal announced her retirement. Hockey India honored her remarkable career by retiring her iconic No. 28 jersey in a special ceremony held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Rani hails from Haryana and has acquired an impressive 16-year career in hockey. She has scored over 200 goals in 254 matches for India, leading them to fourth place at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
