Team India marked a historic win grabbing gold medals in both women's and men's team at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, solidifying its status as a chess powerhouse. The men's team remained unbeaten, and the event saw record-breaking participation with 193 teams in the Open section and 181 teams in the Women's section. The event was organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Hungarian Chess Federation in Hungary from September 10 to 23, 2024, and featured initiatives to promote gender equality and support players with young children.

In a historic achievement for India and the global mining industry, Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: At HINDZINC, drew huge attention when the first-ever all-women mine rescue team clinched the second position at the XIII International Mines Rescue Competition in the women’s task force category. Supreme Court directs DHCBA to Reserve Posts for Women in Upcoming Elections
The Supreme Court of India has ordered the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) to reserve posts for women in its upcoming elections. The court suggested that out of 10 Executive Committee members, at least three women should be elected and the reservation for the posts of Treasurer and Senior Advocate should be mandated. The decision aims to enhance gender equity within the bar association, as no woman has been elected president since 1962.
