Idashisha Nongrang becomes Meghalaya's First Female Police Chief

The state of Meghalaya is all set to welcome its first woman head of police as Idashisha Nongrang has been appointed as its next Director General of Police. Idashisha is a 1992-batch IPS officer. L R Bishnoi, the outgoing DGP will vacate the office on May 19 and Idashisha will take over the reign on May 20. Idashisha is currently the Director General of Civil Defence and Home Guard for Meghalaya. She has been appointed to the top post for two years.

Girls outperform Boys with 91.5% Pass Percentage in CBSE XII Board Results 2024

The Central Board of Secondary Education Class XII examinations, 2024, saw an 87.9 per cent success rate, slightly higher than last year's 87.3 per cent. The number of students who scored over 90 per cent in aggregate increased from 1.12 lakh to 1.16 lakh. Additionally, Girls outperformed boys, with a 91.5 per cent success rate compared to 85.1 per cent. The highest pass percentages were in Panchkula with 93.9 per cent, Patna with 89.1 per cent, Noida with 87.1 per cent, and Dehradun with 88.4 per cent. Thiruvananthapuram topped 17 CBSE regions with a pass percentage of 99.9 per cent, followed by Vijayawada, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

India to Host South African Women's Cricket Team for Multi-Format Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for South Africa's visit to India which includes three T20Is, numerous ODIs, and a women's Test match on Tuesday. From June 16 to July 9, 2024, India will host the South African women's team in a multi-format series. The T20Is and one-off Test will be held in Chennai, while the one-dayers will be played in Bengaluru.
