In a First, Women Jawans to Man BSF's Outpost in Jaisalmer

India is recognising women’s might and is giving them increased responsibility to protect the country’s borders. Aligning with this, Jaisalmer’s Shahgarh Bulge area has become home to India’s very first border outpost (BOP) to be exclusively manned by women jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF).

BSF Director General, Nitin Agarwal broke the news to the media that only women jawans have been deployed at the Nalka BOP. He was addressing the media while on a visit to the international border in Bikaner.

CAB launches India's First Association-led Full-fledged Women's Franchise

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has taken a significant step in promoting women's participation in cricket. The association has announced the launch of the Bengal Pro T20 tournament, which will feature both men's and women's events. In specific, the women's event will showcase India's first full-fledged women's franchise T20 tournament run by an association.

The Bengal Pro T20 tournament will be a 21-day long match held in June this year. The tournament will comprise 8 teams in both men's and women's events. The men's team will consist of 17 players whereas the women's team will have 16 players. The most important requirement is that all the players of both men's and women's teams including the coaches must hail from Bengal. Men's matches will be held at the iconic stadium of Bengal, the Eden Gardens while the women's matches will take place at the popular Jadavpur University ground which is also a regular venue for senior domestic games.

46% Increase in Women Buying Used-Cars, says New Spinny Report

A recent study by Spinny, an acclaimed full-stack platform for used automobiles or cars, highlighted the increasing inclination of female consumers in the Indian used car market. Their data indicates that in March 2024, 46 per cent of women in India chose used cars, an increase of significantly from 35 per cent in the same quarter the previous year.

MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 selects Innovative Ideas of 3 Women Entrepreneurs

The MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 (Women) was organized by the Ministry of MSME under the MSME Innovative Scheme where Woxsen University has selected three innovative ideas from the Host Institution (HI). Three women have been granted Rs 15 lakh each in financial assistance and participated through Woxsen University. In addition to this, the Trade Tower of the university has also been approved as an MSME Host Institute/Business Incubator by the Ministry of MSME, providing guidance and support to emerging entrepreneurs.
