39% Indian Climate Tech startups Led by Women: DPIIT Secretary

DPIIT Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh attended Avaana Capital-Startup India Grand Challenge for ClimateTech Innovation on February 23, 2024, at Delhi’s Vanijya Bhawan. While he was delivering a speech, he revealed a surprising fact in the startup ecosystem. He exclaims that India had lesser than 2 dozen of startup in the year 2015 but there has been a drastic change in the ecosystem now. India has over 1 lakh startup in the year 2024.

Adams and Reese LLP hires Laura DiBella as its Government Affairs Advisor

Adams and Reese LLP, a well-known multidisciplinary legal company which is eminent all over the US, has hired Laura DiBella. Earlier, Laura was the president of Business Development at the Florida Department of Commerce. The legal firm has a Tallahassee office where Laura will be assigned in the Intersection of Business and Government Practice.

Union Cabinet continues Umbrella Scheme on 'Safety of Women'

The Umbrella Scheme on ‘Safety of Women’ is approved for the continuation by the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. The initiative would channelize between 2021-2022 and 2025-2026 at an allocated amount of Rs. 1,179.72 crores. The initiative would be funded by two sources that include, Rs. 885.49 crores from the Nirbhaya Fund and Rs. 294.23 crores from the Ministry of Home Affairs personal budget. The major aim of this initiative is to improve the systems for immediate intervention, effective investigation, and crime prevention for women and children in India.

Hyderabad Initiative WeHub empowers 68 Women of Minority Community

68 women from the minority community have been empowered by Hyderabad's renowned WeHub initiative to become ready to enter the business arena. As part of the "Ujaagar" project, which was carried out in collaboration with Safa India, these ambitious women finished an intense training session and obtained their business formalization certifications at WeHub.

Smriti Irani Appeals VCs to Support Women Entrepreneurs

Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development spoke at the India Tech Week held in Mumbai on Sunday. In her conversation, the Union Minister highlighted the lack of support women entrepreneurs receive from financial institutions. She also made a heartfelt appeal to financial institutions to trust and support the capability of female entrepreneurs who intend to foray into the world of business.
