Olivia Cowan wins Women's Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club
Olivia Cowan had an outstanding weekend, winning the Women's Indian Open at the DLF Golf & Country Club with a strong 4-under 68 to close off the final round.
After no less than 27 Top-10 performances in 96 appearances on the Tour, German golfer Cowan, 26, achieved her first LET victory.
According to a press release, Cowan finished with a score of 13-under 275 and defeated Caroline Hedwall (71), who dropped to joint second place with the Indian after making a bogey on the 18th, and Amandeep Drall (72) by three shots.
Cowan won the largest check of her career, worth US$ 60,000, at the Women's Indian Open, while 2011 champion Hedwall finished in second place for the third time in five appearances.
India launches Programmes to Promote Gender Balance and Support Women-Owned Enterprises
India launches a number of programmes to achieve gender parity and support female-owned enterprises.

According to Olympics.com, this triumph, Karman's largest singles title win to date, has moved her up 91 spots to the 217th spot in the most recent Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Olympian Ankita is currently ranked 297th after falling 13 spots.
The top five women's singles players in India are Sahaja Yamalapalli, who rose 20 ranks to world number 508, Riya Bhatia, who dropped five spaces to 490, and Rutuja Bhosale, who dropped nine spots to 411.
Ms Cynthia McCaffery to be the new UNICEF Representative to India beginning in October 2022

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi is the New Chair of the G20's Official Engagement Group
The Indian Government has appointed Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) as the Chair of the country’s Civil 20 (C20), an official engagement group of the Group of 20 (G20).
According to a release, the G20 is the foremost intergovernmental forum for the developed and developing economies of the world to discuss financial stability on a global scale.
The C20 is its platform for civil-society organisations (CSOs) to bring forth non-government and\snon-business voices to the G20 leaders.
The G20 will be presided over by India from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.
Kerala is on its way to becoming a Woman Friendly Tourist Destination
Kerala has started a project to promote female engagement in all aspects of tourism and draw more female visitors to the State in an effort to become a more women-friendly travel destination.
The State Responsible Tourism Mission (RT Mission) launched the "women-friendly tourism" project with the goal of establishing women-friendly tourism hubs and empowering women. Women from various societal segments will be included in the project's implementation.
The RT Mission's project intends to establish a network of female-staffed tourism centres and women's units. Additionally, the project will make sure that the State's tourist spots meet the needs of female visitors.
Women's Cricket Team Players will now earn the Same Match Fee as their Male Counterparts
The women's cricket team players will now earn the same match fee as their male counterparts, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah, who made the announcement on Thursday. This is in accordance with the board's pay equity policy.
“BCCI announced implementing pay equity policy for its contracted Women cricketers. In the 15th BCCI Apex Council meeting held via video conference, the members passed the resolution unanimously,” a press release from the board stated.
Shah made the initial Twitter announcement of the choice.
“I’m pleased to announce @BCCI’s first step towards tackling discrimination. We are implementing pay equity policy for our contracted @BCCIWomen cricketers. The match fee for both Men and Women Cricketers will be the same as we move into a new era of gender equality in Indian cricket,” Shah wrote in a tweet.
