Indian Women's Team Lift Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup Defeating Nepal
The Indian women's kho kho team has etched its name in history by winning the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup after defeating Nepal.
Played on Sunday at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here, India showcased speed and skill defeating the rival team with a strong 78-40 finish.
Turn 1 saw Indian attackers make a quick start as they took charge. India women scored 14 points by taking out Nepal in three batches and touches on 7 occasions.

12 Indian Women Leaders featured on HSBC Hurun Global Indians List for 2024
The HSBC Hurun Global Indians List for 2024 reveals a significant gender gap among Indian-origin CEOs, with only 12 out of 200 companies on the list being women-led. Out of the 226 CEOs, only 12 are women, making up almost 6 per cent of the total.
Chanel's Leena Nair was named as the most influential Indian-origin figure. Leena is a British business executive who has been appointed as Chanel's Global CEO, leading to a 16 per cent YoY revenue growth to $19.7 billion in 2023.
Habitat for Humanity India & Standard Chartered Bank project Empowers 1,104 Women
Groundbreaking initiative driven by Habitat for Humanity India and Standard Chartered Bank had launched a project titled "Empowering Women and Improving Life through Livelihood Interventions" which empowered 1,104 women in rural Maharashtra and Odisha during its two phases.
The initiative provides essential skills, financial support, and market access to women from 85 self-help groups. It also offers mentorship, financial literacy, bookkeeping training, and awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene management.
UICC & FICCI-FLO hosts Business Roundtable Supporting Indian Women Entrepreneurs
The UAE-India CEPA Council (UICC) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ladies Organisation (FICCI-FLO) have partnered to host a business roundtable in Mumbai, involving over 40 Indian women entrepreneurs.
The event aimed to explore opportunities under the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which offers transformative opportunities such as greater market access, lower tariffs, and simplified trade processes.
The UAE delegation, including Ambassador Abdulnasser Alshaali, UICC Director Ahmed Aljneibi, and Investment Support Specialist Kawthar Alkharoossi, attended the event. FICCI-FLO representatives including, FLO National President Joyshree Das Verma, Chairperson of FLO Mumbai Chapter Aarmeen Mogul Dordi, Former FLO National President Kiran Gera, and Samina Khorakiwala also graced the event.
Union Minister Annpurna Devi emphasizes Importance of Girls' Education
Union Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi emphasized the importance of collective commitment to girls' education, safety, and empowerment on National Girl Child Day. She urged societal support to create an environment where every girl can thrive and fulfill her dreams, ensuring they feel free, empowered, and respected.
On her social media post, the WCD Minister wrote "On National Girl Child Day, I extend my endless good wishes for a bright future to all daughters. Let us take a pledge today to remain committed to the education, safety, and empowerment of our girls." She added, "Balika Devo Bhava: On this occasion of National Girl Child Day, let us resolve to provide every girl the opportunity to fulfill her dreams and create an environment where they feel free, empowered, and respected."
