TAMIL NADU'S MARLIMA WINS THE BEST TRANSGENDER AWARD FOR 2022  

Chief Minister MK Stalin presented 53-year-old Marlima Muralitharan of Villupuram with the Best Transgender Award 2022. A cash prize of Rs 1 lakh is given out as part of the award.

Marlima of Gingee received the award from the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment department for her exceptional work for the upliftment of the third gender over the past 25 years. On hand were Minister P Geetha Jeevan of the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Chief Secretary V Irai Anbu, and officials from other departments.

TEJASVI SURYA OF BJYM TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL CONFERENCE TO SUPPORT WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold a national conference shortly to empower women leadership in the country and promote gender-inclusive progress.

BJYM President Tejasvi Surya remarked this at a conference held by the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).

To assist economic development, FLO has opted to focus on gender-inclusive growth through promoting women entrepreneurship.

"The FLO will be focusing on the gender inclusive growth story of the nation by elevating the voices of women and enhancing their engagement in the entrepreneurial segment," Jayanti Dalmia, President, FLO, said at an interaction 'India Rising' organised by FLO.

LIGHTSPEED VENTURE PROMOTES THREE EXECUTIVES, TWO OF WHOM ARE WOMEN, TO THE POSITION OF PARTNERS

Shuvi Shrivastava, Pinn Lawjindakul, and Rahul Taneja have been promoted to partners in Lightspeed Venture Partners' early-stage investment advising team.

The fund, which has sponsored businesses such as Byju's, ShareChat, and Udaan, has an early-stage staff of eight people, three of which are women.

Taneja, who came as chief business officer with the duty of establishing a team across marketing and corporate development, was also promoted to a partner in the fund, according to Lightspeed.

LIZU NAGHUTO HAMLET HOSTS THE FIRST-EVER "WOMEN GRAM SABHA"

The Zunheboto Block's Lizu Naghuto village council held its first-ever "Women Gram Sabha" in the Lizu Naghuto village council hall.

This programme, which began as part of the Gender Friendly Village for Creating Model Gram Panchayat Clusters, aims to create holistic and long-term development through strengthening Gram Panchayat institutions.

Ikali Wokhami, the Women Welfare Officer, spoke about women's financial and political empowerment, with a focus on the Zunheboto district.

ADANI FOUNDATION LAUNCHES AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME FOR RURAL WOMEN

The Adani Foundation has developed an entrepreneurial programme in Sewapuri, Varanasi, in collaboration with the UP Handicrafts Development and Marketing Corporation Limited, Lucknow, and the Khadi Village Industries Board, Lucknow.

Through a variety of income-generating activities, the initiative will meet the employment needs of over 1,500 rural women. It will serve as a catalyst for skilled women's social and economic development, according to a news statement.

A team from the Adani Skill Development Centre organised three months of skill development training for 1,500 women in four trades: uniform stitching, shoemaking, sweater making, and incense stick manufacturing. Several activities, such as sensitization, mobilisation, and enrolment of women in the training programme, will be used during the course to assist them in realising their full potential.

TWITTER INDIA NAMES TWO HYDERABAD WOMEN TO ITS LIST OF 17 CHANGEMAKERS

According to a report released by Sayty, an NGO that enables women to combat abuse in cooperation with Twitter India, two Hyderabad women, Manju Latha Kalanidhi and Anusha Bharadwaj, are among the 17 Exemplary Changemakers of India. According to the source, Kalanidhi is a journalist and the initiator of the well-known humanitarian movement Rice Bucket Challenge, while Bhardwaj is the founder of Voice 4 Girls, an organisation dedicated to female empowerment. Sayfty is a social media platform and trust. Twitter India came together to honour outstanding changemakers and their use of Twitter to advocate for the #GlobalGoals and make a difference.

The goal of the partnership was to increase women's participation in discussions around the UN's SDGs (sustainable development goals), with a focus on inclusion and safety.
