People in society have a fixed thought of seeing men as frontline workers and women looking after the household work. But in modern times, things have changed exceptionally. Indian women in various areas of society have shown their best talents and capabilities of doing extraordinary work that was somewhat male-dominated. Women of India have contributed a lot in many parts of the society for building up the nation. Women nowadays are showing their capabilities and confidence in every field possible. Indian women are truly shining globally.

Indian women Defeat Ireland in high-scoring 2nd ODI; Jemimah scores 116

The Indian women's cricket team has defeated Ireland by 116 runs in the second ODI being played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. This win led India to close the series with a 2-0 win against Ireland with a match to spare.

India’s win on Sunday was courtesy a massive innings played by Jemimah Rodrigues where she scored a century (102).

India batted first and built a formidable total of 370/5. This was the highest score ever made by Indian women in an international ODI. The Irish side scored 254/7 in their 50 overs.

Army Day Parade 2025 features All-Women NCC & Agniveer Contingent

The Army Day Parade in Pune, Maharashtra, will be held on 15 January 2025. It will feature an all-girl contingent from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), an all-women Agniveer contingent from the Corps Military Police (CMP), and 12 robotic mules.

The parade will showcase four thematic tableaux and a set of marching 'robotic mules', marking the first time it will be held at Bombay Engineering Group and Centre (BEG) and Centre in Pune, which comes under the Army's Southern Command. Inducted last year, the robotic mules will carry loads, navigate inaccessible areas, engage militants, and salute dignitaries before marching forward. Standing in two equal rows, they will be followed by their handlers.

Anamika Sharma Skydives with Maha Kumbh Flag at 13,000 feet

Anamika Sharma, a skydiver from Uttar Pradesh, performed a daring skydive over Bangkok on January 8, 2025, unfurling the Maha Kumbh flag mid-air. The video, which has gone viral, shows Anamika holding the flag before boarding an aircraft and jumping out of it, soaring through the sky while unfurling the flag. This act has been praised as a symbol of devotion and adventure, drawing attention to the Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world's largest religious gatherings.

The Prayagraj Girl shared the video on her social media handle captioning "Inviting people all over the globe for world's largest human gathering - Maha Kumbh 2025." She skydived at 13,000 feet over Bangkok creating a breathtaking moment.

7 Himachal Women Agri-Entrepreneurs honored for Transforming Agr-Practices

Seven women agri-entrepreneurs from Himachal Pradesh were awarded the Innovative Women Entrepreneur Awards during the Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI) Zone-1 foundation day celebration in Ludhiana.

Supported by Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Chamba, Shimla, Solan, and Lahaul & Spiti II, these women have transformed agricultural practices in natural products, food processing, and handicrafts, driving regional economic growth and empowering themselves socially and financially.

BCCI Announces Rescheduling of TATA WPL 2025 to 14 Feb - 15 March

The third edition of the TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 has been rescheduled from 14 February to 15 March, marking a one-week delay from its original date of 7 February, says the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) on Thursday. The much-awaited tournament of the year will take place in four new venues: Baroda, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai featuring 5 distinctive teams, Gujarat Giants, defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz.

The tournament will begin with the Gujarat Giants against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the newly constructed BCA Stadium in Baroda, followed by eight matches in Bengaluru, four in Lucknow, and the final leg in Mumbai. The BCCI announced the schedule, promising thrilling T20 action in the region.

Leekha, who served as Vice President of Corporate Communications (Media & PR) and has decided to pursue external opportunities. She has served for Indigo for 6 years and handled the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Rashmi, with over 28 years of experience in leadership roles with multinational technology brands, was the former Chief Brand & Communications Officer at PayU. She has worked with Adobe, Tata Teleservices, Ericsson, and Vistara. She is a Stanford-certified project manager and has completed leadership programs at the Indian School of Business and the National Institute of Personnel Management.
