Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma praised NITI Aayog for establishing the first Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) chapter in the northeast. The initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs and foster economic growth through various schemes through WEP.

J&K Women Athletes bagged Medals at Khelo India Wushu Senior Women's League Championship

Jammu and Kashmir's athletes, Ansa Chisti, Ayeera Chisti, and Riya Chib, won gold and bronze medals respectively at the Khelo India Wushu Senior Women's League Championship in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Their achievements showcased the Union Territory's growing talent in women's sports. The winners received Rs 20,000 each and Rs 10,000 respectively. Officials congratulated the winners and assured continued support for their success.

Parliamentary Panel Recommends Setting up Women's Tourism Safety Task Force

The parliamentary committee has laid the recommendation for the establishment of an Inter-Ministerial 'Women's Safety Tourism Task Force', which would spell out safety protocols, monitoring systems, and most importantly, emergency plans, especially for women tourists.

In its report to Parliament last Tuesday, the committee insisted that environmental sustainability must shift from being an "auxiliary consideration" to a "core principle" in tourism development. To institutionalize this, the committee recommends creating a 'National Sustainable Tourism Certification System' with clearly defined parameters for ecological impact, resource efficiency and community participation.

Assam To Empower 30 Lakh Women with Rs 10,000 Each Through Lakhpati Didi Scheme

Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on March 26 announced the state would give Rs 10,000 to each woman in Self Help Groups (SHGs) from April 1 under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan.

Actually, Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass even told that Assam government almost wants to empower 30 lakh women in the states at a time to soon call them "Lakhpati Didis."

FLO, FICCI Ladies Organisation an all-out front for businesswomen in the country, could literally exhort any woman who is in business to go public-that you won’t champion her but fight with other women; and going national: action by action, could lead to economic growth. Only 22 percent of women in MSMEs in India own such establishments, as revealed by the Economic Survey 2024-25.
