"Education of women is vital for their empowerment and admittance and advancement in various professions," Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan remarked. Dr Ramilisai, speaking at a programme commemorating Dr. BR Ambedkar's 131st birthday and Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti's 115th birthday at the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition in New Delhi, emphasised Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar's commitment to women empowerment. She quoted Dr. Ambedkar, who stated that a society's or country's progress is measured by the progress of women.
Dr. Ambedkar's work as the architect of the Indian constitution was also acknowledged by the Governor, who enshrined a slew of protections for women's development and empowerment in the Constitution. Dr. Tamilisai urged people to adopt Dr. BR Ambedkar's spirit of gender equality and inclusion, which he preached and practised. In response to the proposed increase in the marriage age, the Governor expressed his support for the plan in order to improve the health of women and children. Family planning is equally important in ensuring the health of mothers and children, according to the Governor, who is also a doctor. She emphasised the significance of ongoing efforts to enhance the nutritional health of women, citing the high incidence of malnutrition among women and children.
The Governor paid rich tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion, describing them as legendary and visionary leaders who have made significant contributions to the downtrodden sections of society and the overall progress of our country. HemaLatha, the director of the NIN, as well as other senior scientists and staff members, were in attendance.
