Telangana CM Revanth Reddy plans to Establish 1 Crore Women SGHs

During the inauguration of the "Indira Mahila Shakti Bazar" in Hyderabad, Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy announced plans to make one crore women of self-help groups financially independent by involving them in various business activities.
The government plans to implement multiple schemes for women's welfare, including free travel for women in state-run buses, subsidized LPG cylinders for Rs 500, free electricity of up to 200 units for the poor, stitching uniforms for students, and providing affordable meals in the canteen in the 'Indira Mahila Shakti Canteens.' The goal is to expand the number of SHG members to one crore by next year. The CM announced that over 115 crore women have benefited from the free bus travel initiative and plans to expand the number of SHGs.
The Telangana government will also provide solar power plants to SHGs, enhancing economic opportunities. Telangana currently has 65 lakh SHG members, for which CM Revanth Reddy mentioned, "It is your responsibility to make it one crore. It is my responsibility to make one crore (women) crorepatis." He plans to visit all 33 districts in the state next year and hold meetings with the SHGs in each district.
