Team India (IND-W) clinched an exemplary win against Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) with 82 runs. Women in Blue smashed the highest 172/3 in 20 overs and restricted Sri Lanka for 90 runs in 19.5 overs grabbing all the wickets. This is the highest run scored by any team during the Women's WC 2024. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur received the 'Player of the Match' title for her splendid batting performance hitting an unbeaten half-century. Additionally, Arundhati Reddy took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs showcasing a great bowling performance.
India Women showcased a dominant all-rounder performance with their bat and ball boosting their run rate and securing the 2nd seat in the Points Table of Group A. India won the toss and opted to bat first against Sri Lanka where star batters Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana showcased their brilliance as openers. Shafali scored 43 runs in 40 balls hitting 4 fours whereas Smriti Mandhana smased her half-century in just 38 balls with 4 fours and 1 six at an SR of 131.58 but had to go back due to run-out.
