Mumbai Indians (MI) became the first team to win two TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) titles, beating Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight runs in the TATA WPL 2025 Final. MI's bowling and fielding performance, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, secured the title after a thrilling final.

Spectators witnessed a nail-biting finish as both Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians gave a tough competition. DC initially restricted MI to just 149/7 in 20 overs showcasing a strong bowling lineup. In contrast, MI with the aim of clinching their second WPL trophy gave a befitting reply with their all-round performance securing the title by 8 runs.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur received the Player of the Match title for her knock of 66 (44), whereas final over hero, Natalie Sciver-Brunt holds numerous titles for her exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Natalie holds the Orange Cap for securing the highest 523 runs, is the most valuable player of the season (MVP) for her consistent performance, and also takes the top spot in the Fantasy League with 1523 points. MI's Amelia Kerr dons the Purple Cap for securing the highest 18 wickets throughout the tournament, whereas Amanjot Kaur is titled as 'Emerging Player' of the season for her impressive innings throughout the season.

Winning the toss, DC captain Meg Lanning put MI into bat first. In no time, DC bowlers dismissed Yastika Bhatia (8 off 14) and Hayley Matthews (3 off 10) delivering impressive performances, leaving MI at 15/2 after 5 overs. Amidst the pressure, Natalie Sciver-Brunt became the first player in TATA WPL history to reach the 1000-run milestone. She and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (66 off 44) led the revival, contributing to a flurry of boundaries. Kaur scored her third fifty of the season, and MI were 87/2 after 13 overs. Delhi bowlers countered with Jess Jonassen dismissing Amelia Kerr and Sajeevan Sajana, and Annabel Sutherland took a massive wicket of Harmanpreet, setting MI at 118/6. MI set a target of 150 for a maiden title for DC.

MI responded to DC's early bowling performance with a strong performance, with Amelia Kerr regaining the lead in the Purple Cap race. Dismissing power openers Meg Lanning (13 off 9) and Safali Verma (4 off 9) by Brunt and Shabnim Ismail respectively, MI regained its prowess. DC managed to rebuild through Jess (13 off 15) and Jemimah Rodrigues (30 off 21), but Purple Cap holder Amelia sent them back to the pavilion. However, Marizanne Kapp (40 off 26) and Niki Prasad (25 off 23) played some crucial knocks but could not chase the total, losing the title.
