The victory was based on crucial batting contributions, led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's 54, and disciplined bowling by Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews, marking MI's first successful total defense this season.
After Match 19, held at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, Delhi Capitals stood tall in first place with 10 points and NRR +0.396, Mumbai Indians placed second with 10 points and NRR +0.298, and Gujarat Giants placed third with 8 points and NRR +0.228.
Gujarat Giants bowled first, executing their plans effectively with the new ball. MI's opening pair, Hayley Matthews (27 off 22) and Amelia Kerr (5 off 9), failed to counterattack, with Priya Mishra dismissing Matthews in the seventh over.
