TATA WPL 2024: UP Warroirz Score Maiden Win; beat MI by 7 Wickets

Match 6 of Tata Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 was held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where team UP Warriorz made their maiden win defeating Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. The players of UPW, both spinners and chasers gave a tough competition to MI restricting them to just 161/6 in 20 overs.
The toss was secured by UPW opting to field first where Kiran Navgire scored the highest half-century of the match, 57(31) whereas the match day captain A Healy smashed 33 off 29. The duo made 94 to the chase. Further Deepti Sharma with 27* off 20 and Grace Harris with 38* off 17 gave a splendid performance providing the finishing touches to chase the victory. UPW secured 163 on losing 3 wickets in just 16.3 overs.
MI started losing their 6 crucial wickets one after another, starting from the 7th over. Yastika Bhatia, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, and S Sanjana all of them lost their wickets to UPW.
The Player of the Match is awarded to Kiran Navgire for setting up the chase and scoring a half-century along with the Sintex SIX of the match for her 4 Sixes. The electric striker of the match has been presented to Grace Harris.
