Tata WPL 2023: Delhi storms into Finals, beats UPW by 5 wickets

The Tata WPL 2023 UP Warriorz vs Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz by a margin of five wickets at the initial tournament of Tata WPL 2023. It was the 20th and last match of the double header day hosted at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI on Tuesday.
By winning this game, Delhi secured its position at the finals of Tata Women’s Premier League to be held on March 26, Sunday. Team Delhi stands in the first position in the points table. They will be fighting for the championship trophy either with Mumbai Indians or with UP Warrioz.
In match number 20, the last game of the league tournament, Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field first against UP Warriorz. Providing tough fielding, team DC restricted UPW to 138 runs grabbing 6 wickets. Meg Lanning scored 39 runs off 23 balls to help achieve 142/5 in just 17.5 overs and finished off the match making a place in the finals. Shabnim Ismail from UPW got 2 wickets of DC in the meantime. Being the highest scorer during the match, Tahila McGrath gave power innings of 58 runs off 32 deliveries. Alice Capsey shined once again grabbing the ‘Player of the Match’ title for her match-winning all-rounder performance. She took the highest 3 wickets adding to that, Radha Yadav took 2 and Jess Jonasen claimed a wicket.
