T-Works, a prototyping centre established by the Telangana government, and Care India, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of marginalised women and girls, have collaborated to create inexpensive and accessible solutions.
Their efforts will be focused on global health, education, economic empowerment, and humanitarian relief. Household air pollution caused by inefficient cooking practises such as the use of traditional 'chulha' or cook stoves is one of the issues they hope to address.
The alliance has also begun initiatives to improve access to foundational and STEAM learning for students in rural and isolated areas, as well as to provide it in a way that is outcome-based. T-Works and Care India's Design Centre are developing mobile labs with scientific models and laboratory setups to enhance learning, according to a press release from T-Works.
T-Works will produce meaningful solutions with its designing, prototyping, and production capabilities, while Cares will build and deliver high impact programmes in India and abroad with its understanding of social problems and implementation competencies.
T-Works CEO Sujai Karampuri remarked, “This partnership will give us a deeper and much wider perspective, enabling solutions co-developed by us to reach end-users in India.”
For more than 70 years, CARE has worked in India to alleviate poverty and social injustice. This is accomplished through well-thought-out and comprehensive health, education, livelihoods, and disaster preparedness and response programmes. Care's overarching purpose is to empower women and girls from disadvantaged and marginalised communities, resulting in better lives and livelihoods for them. Care India is a member of the CARE International Confederation, which works in 100 countries to make the world a better place for everyone.
The statement from Care Inda quote "Why Women & Girls We choose to focus on women and girls because women are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination; we aim to ensure gender equality through the realisation of full rights and entitlements. Further, our experience shows us that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty.
