At the Software Technology Parks of India, Mohali & TIECON 2022 Annual STPI Awards 2022, Dr Neha Tuli, Founder of 6DOF Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (an EdTech business) sponsored by Chitkara University in Punjab, was honoured with the prestigious 'Women Entrepreneur of the Year' award.
TIECON is the world's largest technology conference, designed for entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and investors by Silicon Valley experts.
Arvind Aggarwal, Director General STPI, Jitin Talwar, President TIE Chandigarh, and other dignitaries presented the award.
Dr. Neha Tuli and Shivam Sharma (both alumni of and presently working at Chitkara University) created 6DOF Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to deliver immersive tech solutions for the EdTech market using technologies such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Neha has also received numerous awards in the past for her unique items developed through her start-up. She placed second in the TIE Women Global Pitch Competition in 2021, was recognised at Startup India Innovation Week in 2022, and received first prize in an AR/VR hackathon at IIT Bhubaneswar. Chitkara Innovation Incubation Foundation (CIIF) has given her firm a MEITY TIDE 2.0 grant of INR 7 lakhs.
According to Dr. Neha Tuli, “I am very thankful to Chitkara University for providing me an unparalleled eco-system for starting my company, providing seed funding and now providing all support to scale it up. When I was working on my PhD thesis and came up with the first product in AR/VR space, I had never thought, I would come this far. It is a dream come true!”
Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice Chancellor of Chitkara University and Director of the Immersive and Interactive Technology Research Lab (IITL), has previously mentored a number of successful startups. Dr. Neha Tuli is her mentee as well. “It is a proud moment for all of us at IITL and at Chitkara University, " Dr Mantri remarked, congratulating Neha on her award. I wish, many more young women entrepreneurs should come forward and take this less travelled part."
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Chitkara University's Pro-Chancellor, is a successful female entrepreneur. She has aided and mentored the University's whole business ecosystem. She expressed herself, “I knew that Neha will go places. I have seen her product line of AR-based Education products and I was mesmerised. I wish her luck and best in all her future endeavours.”
