The Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC is delighted with the successful graduation of 20 female entrepreneurs who participated in the Women in Technology Incubator programme. This innovative project strives to empower and support female-led start-ups by giving them the resources they need to thrive in the cutthroat business world.
The complete incubator programme is in accordance with Standard Chartered Bank Ghana's strategy purpose of supporting diversity, innovation, and technology within the commercial sector and is carried out in cooperation with the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre, a business incubator managed by Ashesi University.
Following a comprehensive screening process, five exceptional candidates were selected and awarded GH110,000 in first funding each. These female business owners will have the means to expand their companies, support gender diversity, and achieve economic success with the aid of this financial boost.
Yvonne Gyebi, Head of Consumer, Private, and Business Banking at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC, gave a speech at the occasion and said, "Our Women in Technology project illustrates our commitment to establishing a more inclusive economy. We are proud to recognise these remarkable women who have demonstrated how business success can be enhanced by innovation and diversity.
During the graduation ceremony, Ruka Sanusi, Executive Director of the Ghana Climate Creativity Centre, praised the improvements achieved in encouraging creativity and sustainable solutions. She stressed the critical role that cooperation and supporting female entrepreneurs play in order to achieve a prosperous and ecologically responsible future.
The graduates will also receive 10 weeks of targeted portfolio management support in addition to the seed money. They will also be exposed to potential investors who are ready to support businesses operated by women. Additionally, they will become a part of the global Standard Chartered Women in Technology alumni network, which will provide them access to advantageous networking possibilities, resources, content, and business expansion chances.
The Women in Technology Incubator initiative demonstrates Standard Chartered Bank Ghana's commitment to supporting women-owned enterprises, encouraging diversity, and fostering community growth. This project promotes capacity building and encourages women to follow their entrepreneurial aspirations, both of which help the nation's economy.
