International women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana and the nutrition brand Herbalife Nutrition India Private Limited are working together as a "nutrition sponsor." According to the business, 150 teams and athletes are sponsored globally.
The company claimed that Mandhana has had a remarkable journey and that her outstanding batting performances have rocked the world of cricket. She now serves as the Indian women's national cricket team's vice-captain.
Mandhana became the first Indian female cricketer to win the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year award in 2018 thanks to her on-field accomplishments. She received the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award in the same year, which she did again in 2021.
She got the MA Chidambaram Trophy for best lady cricketer for the 2013–14 season early in her cricket career from the BCCI. She was also the only player from India to be nominated to the 2016 ICC Women's Team. In 2019, she was also given the Arjuna Award.
"We are thrilled about our collaboration with Smriti Mandhana, and our shared belief in the significance of proper nutrition and an active lifestyle makes her the right partner for our brand," said Ajay Khanna, senior vice president and MD of Herbalife Nutrition India. We look forward to collaborating with her to support her sporting goals and advance our purpose of assisting everyone in living their best lives, as we have done with many other athletes.
Mandhana stated, “I am honoured to partner with them. I am excited to join the family of athletes associated with a brand committed to helping sports people of all levels reach their best potential through good nutrition. I believe that nutrition is integral to good health and performing well in any sport, and I am looking forward to encouraging everyone to live a healthy life."
She joins the ranks of Virat Kohli, Mary Kom, Lakshya Sen, and Manika Batra as the fifth athlete from India and the second cricketer. According to one report, the size of the Indian sports business will have topped $9,500 crore in 2021.
This was stated in the report "Sporting Nation in The Making" by GroupM ESP, the entertainment, esports, and sports division of GroupM India, which examines sponsorship expenditures, player endorsements, and media expenditures on sports properties.
