Smriti Mandhana was named in the ICC T20 Women's Team of the Year for her outstanding performance in the format in 2021, however no Indian made the men's team.
With 255 runs at an average of 31.87, the elegant left-hander, who is the Indian team's vice-captain in the format, was the country's best scorer in the format in 2021.
In the nine matches she played, the 25-year-old scored two fifties and helped her team get off to a fast start on a regular basis, as evidenced by her strike-rate of 131.44.
While Mandhana was the sole Indian on the team, several English players are included, including Nat Scriver, who was named captain.
Throughout the year, the seasoned England all-rounder put in a number of memorable performances. Sciver, who batted in the middle order, scored 153 runs, including one fifty, and took 10 wickets at an exceptional average of 20.20.
Tammy Beaumont of England joins Mandhana at the top. The 30-year-solid old's presence at the top of the order has always helped England get off to a good start. She scored 303 runs at an average of 33.66 in nine matches, including three fifties.
The other English players in the team are Danni Wyatt, Amy Jones (wicketkeeper), and Sophie Ecclestone (spinner).
The rest of the starting XI includes Ireland's Gaby Lewis, the South African quartet of Laura Wolvaardt, Shabnim Ismail, and Marizanne Kapp, and Zimbabwe's Loryn Phiri.
Babar is the captain of the men's team. The ICC Men's T20I Team of the Year 2021, which included three Pakistanis, including skipper Babar Azam, was devoid of Indian representation.
Apart from Azam, the group also includes opener Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi, who had a fantastic T20 World Cup.
Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazelwood, who were instrumental in Australia's first T20 World Cup victory, were included in the squad, as were South Africans Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Tabraiz Shamsi.
Jos Buttler, the flamboyant wicketkeeper batter, was England's lone representative at the ICC.
