Smriti Irani Inaugrates the G-20 Summit's Two-Day W-20 Inception Meeting

Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, opened the two-day W-20 inaugural meeting of the G-20 Global Summit on Monday at the Hotel Rama International in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune, Maharashtra.

In this historic city of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, W20 delegates are gathering for the first time.
Five groups of the representatives present at the meeting will each discuss a different priority issue over the course of two days.
Five focus points have been established by W20 under India's presidency. It will emphasise women's empowerment, climate resilience, how women will be crucial to the changes that will occur, and how to foster an environment that is supportive of grassroots women leaders. The emphasis will be on education and skills to close the gender gap in the digital sphere, open doors for women, and ensure that women are at the helm of India's development.
Seminars on women's empowerment in nano, micro, and start-up businesses, women leading India's development, and women's success stories will be held today at this convention.
There will be a discussion in the group about global issues affecting women.
For this gathering, some 150 female representatives from the European Union and 19 other nations have already arrived in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
