Skippers Reach B'lor for Captains Meet before TATA WPL 2024

The Tata Women’s Premier League 2024 (TATA WPL 2024) is all set to start tomorrow, 23 February 2024 and conclude on 17 March 2024. This is the second season of the highly anticipated female cricket tournament in India that has garnered attention worldwide. The tournament consists of 22 league matches in a round-robin format including the eliminator and the finals. The cricket extravaganza comprises five distinctive teams who will compete for the trophy in two selective venues that are M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Ahead of the tournament to commence, the five skippers of the distinctive teams have arrived in Bangalore for the traditional ‘Captains Meet’ as shared by the social media platform of the League.

The defending champion Mumbai Indians Captain, Harmanpreet Kaur has been a pillar strength for her team's victory. Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, Smriti Mandhana voiced confidence toward her team's better performance this year. Runner Up team Delhi Capital’s Captain, Meg Lanning will also be a crucial player as she finished the WPL’s top run scorer in the previous season. Gujarat Giants skipper and all-rounder Beth Mooney faced injuries in her first match in the inaugural season but she has demonstrated her power play in several other giant tournaments. The fifth Captain of the tournament is the second-highest run scorer Alyssa Healy of UP Warriorz. Each of the five captains is a treat to watch on the field for the cricket enthusiasts.
